I know a first-person query is frowned upon, but what about a first person synopsis? I've read some conflicting views on this, but I haven't seen anything resembling the semi-squishy facts of this whole endeavor. Any thoughts?

Strictly third person is the way to go. No gimmicks. It's the author summarizing the story for a prospective reader/agent.

Agree with DTW (as always!). The one suggestion I would offer is that you try writing it "in character" as it were. How would your protagonist describe it in the third person?

I found that early drafts of my synopsis seemed clinical, and even the most critical plot points lacked drama. Then I tried writing it as a character rather than an author, and suddenly the stakes seemed higher and the writing got much better.

Good luck!
