UK agent Blogs

Post by Hillsy » February 17th, 2011, 1:53 pm

Hey all,

The internet being the cross-national behemoth that it is, I'm probably not the only Brit here, or indeed following one of the many, many agent blogs in the US. However in my previous searches I've struggled to find any agency/agent in the UK that blogs on a regular basis and gives valuable insight into the publishing world on this(my) side of the Atlantic.

So with the vast resource that trawls through here on a regular basis, I was just wondering if anyone knew of/followed any UK based blogs. As I understand it the query system here is very different to that of the US, and any insight I can get on that would be utterly invaluable, plus the publish industry here (or at least the publishers) have different "rules" as well.

So, and ideas?

In my experience British agents are generally less clued up about using the internet than their US counterparts, but there are a few who have websites and blogs. Twitter is a very useful way of connecting with agents and publishers and finding out what they are looking for. And this page might give you some pointers:
