Query Etiquette. To whom do I reply: agent or assistant?

Post by Dixon Ticonderoga » May 9th, 2010, 9:15 pm

I've received a request for a full from an agent's assistant. To whom do I address the cover letter? Further, when I email the material (they told me they prefer email), do I send it to the assistant's email or do I send it to the agents? Or do I send it to both?

I always address the e-mail to both of them, since they'll both be reading it.

As for who to send it to, any time I've been in this situation I sent it to the agent, and that seemed to work out fine.

I'd send it to the agent and cc the assistant unless otherwise specified.

this happened to me at least once -- maybe a few times. i just replied to whoever was sending the email (including anyone cc-ed) with my MS attached. worked out fine!
