I'm going out on a limb and saying that, even though we're not yet to OT, this is the best Hockey Game (best tournament, really) in 30 years.

Other Olympic highlights:

Slovakian attempt at comeback against Canada
Russia vs Czech Republic
Ladies Gold Medal Hockey game
Johnny Weir's classy response after French announcers' comments
JR Celski's speed skating strategery

What else?

My sons had their hockey championship day on Saturday and received Sidney Crosby puzzles in tins with their medals. They were screaming and hugging their tins when Crosby scored the winning goal. He's their hockey hero!

That was definitely a very entertaining game. Now I shall go back to not watching hockey for another four years.

I must admit, that's as often as I watch hockey these days.

Which means I'll probably be deported tomorrow.

I haven't watched a hockey game since elementary school. Used to go to Flyers games all the time, though. Made it to every game I could. And come to think of it, I stopped caring about the Olympics after elementary school, too. Weird.

I swear I don't have fast enough eyes to follow hockey. (I'm also willing to explore that it might be "processor speed.") Everyone around me is oohing and aahhing and I keep asking what just happened. The game was great from what I could tell second hand.

I am glad Canada won since I am Canadian as is hockey. What I don't get is that hockey is a very exciting game, skill wise, yet a lot of US games are played in half empty stadiums. It is taking a long time to catch on in the US even though American teams have won a heck of a lot of Stanley Cups (the big trophy at the end). I wonder why it is taking so long to catch on. Even top US teams end up with half empty arenas.

Anyhow... Olympic Gold was Canada's but there is no shame in Silver.
