Holiday Plans - anything fun or just shopping?

Hi, so what are folks up to for the holidays? Anything fun? Or just shopping, shopping and shopping?

Going to do any writing?

I just started my break from my very long schedule, so I'm going to see long-lost friends, rest, relax and sleep. Lots and lots of sleep. :)

And do all of my shopping on-line.

I did see a journal that's looking for submissions, so I might write an article for that, but otherwise, rest! Love the holidays! :)

Anyone else feel like sharing what they'll be up to?

I am going to spend some much needed time with my family. My little guy is two, so this will be the first year he really gets it and my littlest guy will be celebrating his first Christmas. Lots of fun to be had!

Right now, I feel like I’m in the grip of some huge pre-Christmas whirlwind. I decorated our Christmas tree, and am almost done stuffing Christmas cards and our annual Christmas letter into envelopes. Still need to decorate inside, put lights outside, wrap presents and bake Christmas cookies. Looking forward to a two-week holiday, though. Hope to go skiing, see movies at the theater, go out to dinner, and other fun stuff. In January, I’m planning to buckle down and begin working with an Editor on my latest novel.

Christmas with family and helping my MIL put together my sis-in-law's wedding, which is two days after Christmas o_O

I forgot to mention that her wedding was planned in a month. :P So yeah, from next Wednesday through Sunday, my life will be insane. 'Tis the season, right?

However I try to remind myself the true meaning of Christmas when things get stressful. I find that it helps tremendously :)

Working most of the time. I work in a large bookstore. The phrase "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" has a whole different meaning for those who work in retail. A friend cracked me up by saying at least it would all be over at the end of this week. Apparently she has never worked in retail. In between returns, exchanges, and gift cards, we will stay busy at least through the middle of January.

And the only day busier than the day before Christmas is the day after.

I'm spending quite a bit of time writing on my break from school. :)

I was going to go shopping yesterday followed by seeing the movie Avatar in Imax 3D -- However I got snowed in with 19 inches of snow...maybe I'll get out today. haha!

The LOML and I are driving to Little Rock to see family, including son #2 and his new wife. He is a combat medic in the Army now stationed in San Antonio. It is great to have him in the US this year instead of Iraq for Christmas!

New week son #1 will be visiting us with his wife and three daughters. It will be great to have little ones in the house for Christmas, even if it is celebrated with them a few days late.

I will be leaving early Thursday morning for a 5 hour trip home to see my family. My husband will be driving and I will be clicking away at my key board, hopefully finishing a chapter or two. :)
