Fun Facts
I don't know, maybe you could use these in your books. We all love a good wiki-walk, right?
I'll get it started: statistically, the world's most common first name (counting regional and language variations) is Mohammed, and the most common last name is Zhang. How many Mohammed Zhangs are there? According to extensive web-searching, just one: a computer programmer in New York City, who I kinda suspect is using a fake name.

Everybody loves using things as other things, right? Check out my blog at the Cromulent Bricoleur and see one hipster's approach to recycling, upcycling, and alterna-cycling (which is a word I just made up).

There are more than 300,000 fast food resturants in the U.S.
And at least ten of them are right near my house. Fortunately, I heart fast food. Embarassing, but it's very delicious.

Chocolate is the healthiest sweet in the world.
Ok, so I made that one up. It doesn't stop me from wishing it were true.
Who invented chocolate? (for real this time) It depends on who you trust to answer that one. Seriously. Some say the Aztecs and Mayans, that answer seems the most reliable anyway.

Re: Fun Facts
E. coli is a normal, everyday sort of bacteria, helpful and friendly and crawling in and around you right now. But when it turns bad, it's very bad. Sort of like those shady guys in street corners with top hats.
E. coli tends to also hang around on you with Staphylococcus, who's on your skin and in your mucus membranes. He's also very nice and likes to mow your nose hairs during the day but at night he's actually a ninja. Which is why it's important to not pick your nose or scratch yourself open and not clean it. He's always looking for a way in. Ninja style.
But that's okay, it's been medically proven that laughter is an effective pain killer.
And that pain can kill you. O_O
On that note, on March 14, 1932, George Eastman of Eastman Kodak died by suicide with a single gunshot to the heart, leaving a note which read, "My work is done. Why wait?"
[I read that in a book and it stuck with me. He was in so much pain at the end he couldn't take it any longer.]

Okay, I just pulled my shoe off and held it to my arm. Pretty close.

You would think parents wouldn't do things like that. But they do. Case in point; race car drive Dick Trickle.
