Addiction. I has it.

Because that novel isn't going to delay itself

Does angry poultry taste better than the complacent kind?

I wrote most of my first novel powered by Swedish Fish. Five pounds later, I now try to stick to tea, mineral water and popcorn. But sometimes, only the Fish will do.

I don't eat while I write, thank goodness. (I eat enough while I'm not writing - and I really can't resist chips). But I do bring up a delicious cup of tea, and then when I go to drink it, it's already gone. Yes, I drink it without noticing, wasting it. Bah. I hate it. Related but not an addiction, I do the same thing with removing my watch. I never know I'm doing it, but whenever I go to leave the keyboard, I'm no longer wearing my watch. Weird, eh?

Maybe it's not you. Maybe your characters have become a little too real. :)
Hi, my name's Fenris. I'm a thousand-year-old monster who's broken free to destroy the world. Your kids will love me!
