Thankfully, or luckily, or both, my agent was able to rustle up interest for my MG (middle-grade) manuscript with some pretty reputable houses, which really exceeded my expectations. It was beyond exciting. Excitement fades once you realize you're not the lucky few who get those awesome pre-empt deals in like, a week. I'm on month four of my wait.
Besides throwing myself into my WIP, i've been trying to find reasons to stay optimistic, so I'm hoping a few people on here will talk about their long (or short) wait to get a book deal!
