I'm rereading through all the Austen books right now. I just finished "Pride and Prejudice."

Also, I'm rereading "Paper Towns" by John Green. *I bow at the wonderful, creative awesomeness that is John Green.*

I'm almost finished with The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway. This is the first time I've read anything by Hemingway and I find I like his writing a lot.

I have noticed there is a lot of violence, sometimes very graphic violence, in a lot of the stories. Not that I mind.

Am thinking of rereading something but can't make up my mind as to which books.

I'm in the middle of Roberto Bolaño's 2666 but am taking a short break with The Golden Mean by Anabel Lyon. 2666 is very good, but sustains an impressive intensity through every densely packed page.

Having gone back to a first book in a series--the author's debut, in fact--and re-reading the second book, I'm learning a whole lot about writing in general, and how we can greatly improve over two manuscripts. Anyone ever come across this?

Incidentally, the books are The Keeper and The Missing by Sarah Langan.

I am filling a HUGE, gaping hole in my literary life. I'm reading Jane Austen for the first time. Yep. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is calling to me from my Kindle right now.

I usually read several at a time. But right now I am concentrating on The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon for my book club.

For the first time since I can remember I don't have a book waiting for me beside my bed...

I have just finished the Vampire Academy series - again - by Richelle Mead (lame title but awesome books) and I think I might actually get around to starting her Eugenie series now. I've put in off because the next book doesn't come out until early next year and I absolutely HATE having to wait for a release. Especially since Richelle insists of cliff hangers...

Just bought quite a few books so I am not sure what to read first. The books are: SHIVER by Maggie Stiefvater, THE HUNGER GAMES by Suzanne Collins, BEFORE I FALL by Lauren Oliver, and WILLOW by Julia Hoban. I've heard amazing things by all of them.

What should I read first? I was leaning towards BEFORE I FALL or HUNGER GAMES...but I'm not too sure.

I've just started re-reading the TEMERAIRE series, by Naomi Novik. Mainly because the next book is coming out next month (YAY!) and I need to refresh my memory, but also because the writing is so darn good that it makes my writing better if I read it while writing. Her awesomeness is addictive.

Plus, Temeraire is one of the cutest dragons of all time.

Currently reading My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent, the first in her series about a teenage bean sidhe (AKA banshee) - just blazing through it because it's a quick read with good tension. Boneshaker (steampunk with zombies) by Cherie Priest sits on my bedside table, and I just finished Storm Born by Richelle Mead, the first book in her lesser-known Dark Swan series that I actually think is one of her best - about a mercenary shaman gal.

Decided to cover all my bases, since it may be a while before I come to say this again!

Started reading The Dying Days by Lance Parkin this morning because, well, I can. Not overly fond of Parkin. Good writing style, I know a lot of people love him, but I've just always found his books to be a bit lacking something. Still, I'm giving it a go.

ANGELA'S ASHES. I saw the movie years ago and loved it. The memoir is fabulous.

(Editing this to say it's a memoir, not a novel, which makes it all the more incredible.)
