Bad book review leads to criminal trial

Post by steve » February 23rd, 2011, 10:32 am

Love this story.
In a little more than a week, a court in Paris will decide whether a law professor in New York committed criminal libel by publishing a book review.
The writer who sued the reviewer has her book on Amazon. The geniuses who post Amazon reader reviews are having some fun with her book.
Read one of the best stories by Borges.

Just two words; 21st century...

What the hell is wrong with people? First; there is nothing wrong with that review. It's not even THAT negative (I've read worse reviews than this one.). It's pointing out the editorial and few other mistakes, but it's also praising the writer's research effort (Last paragraph.). Second; the writer achieved just one thing with this; being the enemy of the readers. This is a prime example of "How to alienate your readers.". My prediction is, Ms. Calvo is going to loose this trial, just as she lost her reputation in the eyes of her readers.
