Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Post by CharleeVale » February 21st, 2011, 3:34 am

Have you read it? Did you like it? Is it on your list??
Spoiler:
Okay, just finished it. I have to say I liked it exponentially better than Matched. Matched was good, this was better, and there wasn't a love triangle in sight! Oliver just has such beautiful and vivid poetry in her words. I couldn't put it down. Also, I though that it was a stand alone book, and I think it easily could have been. The end leaves you aching, but my is it a beautiful ache.
Please let me know your thoughts!

It's on my list to download onto my Kindle. There are a couple others ahead of it though. Glad to hear you liked it! I've heard a lot of good things.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of it this summer and oh my gosh...the ending is amazing! The last few pages left my mouth hanging open with the stunning images. Wow!

Oh, and I added it to my curriculum for next year. I teach highschool and requested 35 copies for a class set. I'm trying to integrate YA into the classroom more and my students read ROMEO AND JULIET that year, so we're going to look at how the two relate because Lauren Oliver wrote it with that thought in mind.

I just finished Delirium this week and I absolutely LOVED it. I think it might be one of my favorite dystopians. The ending just KILLED me though.

I am currently listening to the audio book version. I love the reader, she's a good fit. I'm enjoying it so far, I'm just under halfway through.
