What Banning Books Really Means

This blog post is not written very well... I didn't explain myself as well as I could/should have. It's all about freedom of speech and equality and peace.

Today on my blog (and more officially on facebook) I launched Steampunk Earth Day - like Earth Hour, but more flexible and with better outfits. I also launched this month's twittertale - "Zeppelin Jack and the Deadly Dueller."

The rationale behind Steampunk Earth Day is that the Victorian era was where a lot of today’s pollution was born and raised and bred. Steampunk is all about taking the Victorian era and making it more fun – so why not take a day to be steampunk WITHOUT the pollution?

Today I blogged about how, starting from a flash idea, I unravel my plot:

I have posted links to "Must Read" observations by Alan Rinzler on Plot, Freelance editors and Publishers POV opinions. Great stuff for the novice, as well as reminders for the experienced writer. Mr. Rinzler is an extraordinary editor, with an amazing resume of client author success stories.

I'm having a little challenge over on my blog. :)

Fall Flash Challenge: Picture Prompt

It’s time to get down and dirty for the wonderful, creepy Halloween season. I love this time of year, don’t you?

Rules:

Your challenge is to write a flash piece, no more than 1000 words in length. It can be about anything you want, as long as you include two elements. One, it must be Fall or Halloween related in theme. Two, you must pick one image from my post to help prompt your writing. (For inspiration and fun.)

Leave your piece in the comment section of the post, also telling us which picture you chose. The deadline is 11:59 PM on Friday, October 15, 2010.

Entries will be judged based on quality of writing and imagination. I will NOT be the judge of the contest. I will ask two anonymous writers to decide on a winner, so no worries about bias.

HERE IS A LINK TO THE CONTEST

Good luck. May you be inspired and creeped out…

(And yes, there is a prize.)

On top of the interesting things I find: have a look at two great entrys in the Blog fest contest here: Patrick Neylan's Pulped Fiction and hartjohnson's, Bloginality: The types of Bloggers and their attitudes.

Started a additional piece called Week after Week on my blog.

29,300,000 hits on the home intruder video + song made me HAVE to post it.

All the Best!
