New Beers from Old Ruins

Ancient potions, beer archaeology, and communing with the past.

And I've just added Friday's Post:

The Summer Dip: Welcome to July

The fact that no new posts have been added in the last day seems to confirm that we might be caught in this "dip."

How to keep the summer from slipping away with our goals unfulfilled?

A post about how self publishing could help you with landing that traditional publisher down the road.

Think of it this way: James Bond represents the kind of man many of us might like to be. The Eric Ambler hero is the man most of us are. At the very least, this raises this stakes, heightens the danger.
On my web page this week, a review of Judgment on Deltchev by Eric Ambler, his first Cold War thriller: http://tbdeluxe.blogspot.com/2011/07/lo ... mbler.html

The Ambler House webpage has been updated, in part to promote their next publication, my comic screenplay Whackers due out later this month: http://amblerhouse.blogspot.com/2011/06 ... comic.html

Thanks for reading!

I've become so fond of technology that my move to a less "wired" location is like traveling back in time.

Happy Fourth, everyone! I've actually been neglecting to post updates here, so I have a stack of three:

Day 2 of the Teen Writers' Summer Blogfest is 'On Reading,' and what we like and don't like in books. http://harbingercodex.blogspot.com/2011 ... day-2.html

Day 3 is Excerpt Day, so I posted one of the more troublesome sections of my WIP in the hopes that it'll be torn apart. It's also the inciting incident, so if any of you want to have some idea of what Harbinger's all about... http://harbingercodex.blogspot.com/2011 ... day-3.html

And Day 4, posted today, is Interview Day. I am a nervous child. When it comes to asking people if I can interview them, I'm sitting in the back chewing my nails until long after they're gone. So have a fictional interview instead, just for kicks: http://harbingercodex.blogspot.com/2011 ... day-4.html

July 5th: The Day After, Revisited.

The Summer Dip hits even harder today. Even those of us who are not hungover are vulnerable to sluggishness. "What, if anything, remains of the party once it is over?"
