I do have a new one today on my blog (see below) but don't waste your time visiting - it's just another query/rejection. If you want to read something interesting wait until tomorrow and then visit Justine's http://justine-dell.blogspot.com/. I'll be doing a guest blog post for her and hopefully the topic will spark some impassioned conversation.

I diverged a bit from writing today and wrote about the music (at least it is fantasy and sci-fi music!) that I want played at my memorial service when I die. Morbid? http://tedacross.blogspot.com/2010/04/m ... e-for.html

I have an awesome guest post today on my blog by Cole Gibsen.

This one is pure query/submission gold folks in which she shares the ACTUAL query that landed her an agent and the correspondence that ensued.

Please stop by to read, comment and follow (just click the link below).

Thanks!

Submissions Wanted

Post by Bryan Russell/Ink » April 9th, 2010, 8:11 am

Hey everyone, just wanted to announce that my blog, The Alchemy of Writing, is open to submissions for flash fiction (under 400 words). I'm hoping to find some interesting stuff to put out, and odd and quirky is a good place to start (though I'm eclectic and will look at anything). Should be fun, and I hope there might be a few people around here interested in participating. The constraints of the form are a challenge... but also a pleasure, and a pleasure that hopefully helps push your writing. Writing small is a skill, and a useful one. Think queries, folks, think queries. :)

I'll be looking to put up a fresh story every Friday. Today's is The Hole, by Susan Quinn.

Ink, that 400-word limit is dastardly. I checked my meager short fiction file and found a few in the 600-word range. Even knocked a hundred words off one just now that was 700 words.

Checked out your blogspot, though, and it's very cool. Good luck with your Friday Flash Fiction.
