Today, I announced details of my next book Let's Get Digital which will be released in the middle of the this month.

I also explained how I am going to make more money by giving it away for free. In fact, I'm so confident in this strategy, that I'm willing to bet $1,000 that I am right.

I blogged about the Oxford comma debate when it blew up last week. Being English, I don't use it, whereas it's much more common in the US. I've tried to explain why I don't use it, but I'm not telling anyone else to stop.

http://angrysubeditor.blogspot.com/2011 ... l-and.html

It's clearly a very fraught issue, because I got five times as many page views as I normally get. One fan of the Oxford comma gleefully pointed out a mistake I made in one of my examples, which I've left uncorrected in order to show that it's not a simple issue.

Prompted by the Wall Street Journal's attack on self-publishers, today I drew up a list of all the horrible things that have come about since the rise of self-publishing. You know, things like more options for writers, fairer royalty splits, complete control over production, more selection for readers, cheaper books, more people reading - that kind of thing.

Today, I have a guest post from fellow self-publisher Tony James Slater, whose debut book, a humorous account of his adventures in Ecuador working at an exotic animal sanctuary called That Bear Ate My Pants! raced up the charts on its very first day.
