This time, a response to the Red Room's request for "memories" of World War II:
I was a strapping, manly six year old when I shipped out for World War II. With only a few scenes of basic training under my belt, I was sent straight into battle, inside the glowing blue foxhole of my family’s RCA TV.

Going off grid! I'm leaving for a hiking trip in the Smokies tomorrow and I'm using the opportunity to really get in the mindset of one of my characters who grew up in similar surroundings. My latest post is the "pre-trip" list of things I hope to discover while I'm in the wild.

How do you use vacations as inspiration?

I just realised I totally missed posting yesterday's post here. And it featured Margo's self-published short, too! So here, a day late: http://claudiea.blogspot.com/2011/06/di ... -cool.html

Plus it was my turn on Wicked & Tricksy, discussing the advantages multiple POVs can have: http://www.wickedtricksy.com/?p=550

And finally, Friday post on my microscopic soulmate! http://claudiea.blogspot.com/2011/06/my ... lmate.html

Yes, I know. Lots of link. ^^
