Does talking with an agent really help your case?

Post by authorgirl1485 » April 15th, 2011, 3:16 pm

I was talking with a really fantastic agent on a blog, and we became friends. She asked what I was working on, and I told her, since it's the same genre that she deals with. When I was done, she asked for a full. We had talked previously a lot. I know that the state of the manuscript does matter regardless, but will it help my case that we are already friends and work well together?

Yeah, I think a personal connection can definitely help. At the end of the day it's the manuscript that will sway the agent or not, but you definitely have her interest and that's always a good thing.
