I was wondering if there's a word count range for dystopian novels. With my current project I have just under 70k so far and feel it coming to an end. My goal was 80k but now I'm not sure if that's going to happen. From what I understand most writers tend to write too much; I'm the opposite. I've found sites that say literary fiction is about 80k but I've also looked up a couple stats for published dystopias and found one that was only 50k (it was F451). I'd just like to know what kind of leeway there is for dystopia or if it's even different from the literary fiction word count.
Thanks

Within reason, I'm not a word count stickler: http://blog.nathanbransford.com/2008/02 ... count.html
