Is anyone involved in a midnight write-fest to kick off NaNo? I'm not this year, but I know there are a couple around my town.

Our kick off party is from 8-10:30pm, but I know several of my folks are planning to stick around to midnight to get in their first words :-) I have work at 7 am, so I'm going to leave before midnight, but will probably do my first few words after midnight before going to bed LOL

We had our NaNo Kick-Off this evening (it was a blast, as usual) and we are now all gathering on the chatroom to kick off the month. I'm super excited!

First write in was awesome, 17 people showed plus 2-3 online. Like twice as many as last year :-)

I'm ridiculously exhausted, but happy. And managed to get 1670 words in myself.

Great job Amanda Elizabeth! Nano is so much fun and if you pace yourself you can make the goal! I'm a little over 7k right now and will write a bit more tonight.

I just reached 8,333, so I'm a bit ahead of schedule. I'm trying to stay that way, and maybe get an even bigger buffer, because I have a Hell Week starting around the 13th and finishing on the 22nd. I'd love for it not to kill my NaNo. :)

I just pounded out another 2,001 words in 2 hours (and 5 minutes if you want to be exact) 7,991 total!

I did a lot of outlining but there was research I just didn't THINK of. Like, my character gets lost her first time on the NYC subway...well, I needed to figure out how exactly she was going to get lost, since I think the subway system is pretty easy...and I know they say ignore those details for NNWM, but it's a compulsion for me.
