You Tell Me: The Weirdest Place You've Gotten an Idea

Post by NicoleLRivera » October 5th, 2010, 6:49 pm

Last week I came up with an idea for the premise of a story. It hit me like a bag of New York Times Bestselling novels. What was I doing? Watching E!. More specifically, Forbes Top 100 List while I iced and elevated the pinky toe I'd jammed earlier in the day.

I wanted to jump up and scream "Hallelujah", thankfully I didn't. Instead I turned to my hubby and told him. I got the typical head nod from a man who refuses to read fiction and finds it pain staking to reach his reading goal of twelve leadership books a year. It's October and he's only read seven, most of which had large glossy pictures and less than a hundred pages.

Having vented, I entered it into the notepad on my iPhone under "Book Ideas".

Anyway, on to you… Where is the weirdest place you've be struck by a story idea? Who'd you tell? How did they react? What are you doing with that idea now?
