Hasn't 'whom' become a pomposity? It gives me the crawlies. Maybe because I've never understood it. Subject. Object. Whatever... Whom agrees?

I plugged in two short excerpts from my WIP a few weeks ago. The results: J.K. Rowling on one, P.G. Wodehouse on the other. I'm pretty happy with being compared to those writers:) And apparently I need to start going by my initials...

When I put in an excerpt where one character is referred to as 'The Tiger' I got Rudyard Kipling

Oh, this thing is funny. Apparently:

- in my blog my writing is like Cory Doctorow;

- in my seriously-toned WIP my writing is like Chuck Palahniuk;

- and in my more humorous WIP, where the character is supposed to be a little crazy and/or schizo, has the worst ADD in the history of ever, and curses a lot: my writing is like William Shakespeare.

The third one is what cracked me up.

This is a very interesting site. For my first novel, a post-apocalyptic urban fantasy, it said overwhelmingly that I wrote like Chuck Palahniuk.

Then, for my second one, an urban fantasy sans apocalypse, suddenly I write like Stephen King.

I find that interesting because I have felt for awhile that the two novels are very different in tone and style, but I am at a loss as to why or how, exactly.

Hrmz. ~rubbing chin thoughtfully~

Did it again with my blog and it came up with William Gibson.
