Writing a scene with both the protagonist and antagonist in the same area.

Hello everyone,
I would like to know how do I go about writing a scene with my killer and the main detective only being 200 feet away from each other and not know it without using a scene break.

Depends on the Point of View, I'd say. Are you telling the scene from the POV of one of the characters or both or a more general God-like POV?

Yes, but there are several different types of 3rd person POV.

Take your first chapter for example. This is told from Rebecca's POV until her death. The POV is less specific after that but appears to be Mrs. Claus' POV since she notices things and gets an idea, both of which are her internal thoughts. Basically, whoever thinks about a scene is the POV character, even when it is close 3rd Person POV rather than 1st Person POV.

Perhaps you could post whatever you've written of the scene in the 'Excerpts' section to give us a better understanding of your problem?
