WIP...Contemporary Fiction

Post by rmorris » June 15th, 2010, 11:29 pm

Hey all,
My WIP is my second novel, and I'm looking for some feedback on what I've written so far, and for what's to come. I'd say it's still in its early stages (60+ pages so far), but I'm really just feeling like a second set of eyes would be a big help.
This is a contemporary tale about 30-something friends in NY, who are not only dealing with the ups-and-downs of their own lives, but must also face a collective part of their past.
You can read my first chapter in the excerpts section (it's called "TOM'S"), and if it's something that strikes you, please PM me.
I'd also love to critique any of your own WIPs.
Thanks!

Just read it and bar the adverbs which you already changed, I have no real comments. Love it so far and am interested to know whats in the envelope! I would be very happy to read through for you.

My MS (first novel) is a similar story, long standing friendships haunted by the past but there the similarity stops. Mine is set in a small fishing village in England. I have already sent it out and had only rejections, no feedback, so if you want to look at perhaps the first part (around 40 pages) to help me start my revisions in return, that would be fantastic.
