Congrats, Charlee. Also, belated happy b-day. I saw you listed on the birthdays section of the front page a couple days ago.

Re: Rave about your Significant Other, Friends, or Family!
I can't have any pets. :( The place where I live is too small and there is a no-animals policy. Also, everyone here is allergic to animals except me. At least I have Smelly Cat on YouTube and the Lolcatz on the Cheezburger sites. ;) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_vRzhgxejPW8/R9vR3KfnJFI/AAAAAAAADAw/DWjb_...

No crocodiles,

I only like

And hippopotamussesses like me too!

Re: Question about "traditional" copyright
Thanks Charlee.
Although I might want to sue people for damages, but those are the people who've damaged me so much I end up obsessing about things like this.
Not the same thing as getting pirated on Napster or Rapidshare, obviously.

Added: "Books that deserve to be banned" at Salon . OT: Salon's new paywall-ish redesign sucks. Either you pay $45/year for a subscription that gets you a $h!tload of magazines and other unnecessary stuff, or make a "comments-only" account on which you have to use a Google/Gmail...

Re: Oct 5 2011: Steve Jobs is dead :(
I'll never forget having to manually boot the computer each time I turned it on with DOS commands, the floppy disks, RGB monitor, dot matrix printer and 1.6bps modem. And then, a friend of mine bought one of the first Macs and it was awesome. It "Just Works." :D Hence the old folk wisdom ...

2 Q's: Copyright and P.O. boxes
Reposted from two other threads on the rules of "traditional" copyright and about whether or not to use P.O. boxes in query letters . The users in the trailing posts said that it'd be a good idea to ask you these things. Maybe in the interest of clarity and organization, you could reply to...

Re: Article: Blogging bad idea for writers
Wow, thanks for ALL the replies here! :D Mr. Bransford just replied to my question on the Ask Nathan section about time balance and social media. He said he's managed to find time for "writing" writing but that he feels behind a bit on the blog. :? @ Sommer Leigh: Thanks for the very detai...

Ha -- awesome!! THANK YOU! :D So...would it be too much to ask to be included on the blog? :D :D :D EDIT: An even bigger THANK YOU!!! I just looked at the blog and saw you put it up! What the world needs now are more cool people like Mr. Bransford. It's the only thing there's just too little of. :D...

Re: P.O. boxes in query letters?
Interesting question - I'm guessing that a P.O. box isn't a problem, especially since they will most likely contact you by e-mail anyway. Orphone call, if it's an offer. :D But you could ask Nathan about this if you want..... I've already asked two things of the man, which is one more than you're s...

Re: Article: Blogging bad idea for writers
One point that I think is very important to note is that the very popular blogger authors tend to be young adult authors. ... They don't tend to blog about their books and about writing, they blog about the world in a more general sense as it affects young adults. They tend to treat their online co...

Re: OK to have someone else do the platform for you?
Just question, if you wanted to do this, (And your publisher somehow agreed to it, which I doubt) What happens when 'you' go on book tour? You don't want to meet the fans? Your actress would be there signing books for you? If I'm ever privileged enough to get published I want to meet the people who...

Re: Oct 5 2011: Steve Jobs is dead :(
You know, for the looooooooooooooongest time (I think I just went into Google-O mode there) I was totally 100% against e-books even existing. Now I want myself an iPad. :D Just hearing Steve Jobs at that Stanford commencement speech and talking about "all the things yet to come" I realize ...
