Re: Spiraling Blue Light Over Norway
Yeah, I agree, Mira - a real wormhole would have been awesome ... well, at least if the beings coming through it were friendly ... or if we had created the wormhole ourselves and people could go through it.

Thank you so much, Rose. Your kind words mean a lot to me! Best of luck with your book. It sounds absolutely fascinating, and I’m extremely honored to have met you here in Nathan’s Forum.

Re: How do you know your writing is good enough?
Thanks so much, Chopsy. I'm definitely very excited. I agree wholeheartedly when you say, "...I guess I just have to give myself over to the process and ensure that I concentrate on the part of this I enjoy the most - writing!" That really is the only part over which we have complete contr...

Re: My father had nothing to do with making that ship disappear.
Rose, The ideas you’re suggesting are fascinating. Reminds me of Nikola Tesla. I would explain why the issue of gravity is so important in this project and how it’s related to time travel, if time travel is what you’re hinting at. Really important is: Which shipyard experiment are you referring to? ...

Re: Do you prefer: Hardbacks or paperbacks?
I read both paperback and hard cover. I used to prefer to buy my favorite books in hard cover; but recently so many of them are made with such shoddy glue, the pages fall out after only a couple of readings.

Re: How do you know your writing is good enough?
Chopsy – I’m in the same position as you – I have three novels and numerous short stories published by small press, and have compiled and edited several small press books. I sent the books out for reviews and entered them into contests. The books received fantastic reviews and won a lot of awards. S...

Re: Today's excuse for procrastinating is...
Elisabeth – Ouch! That’s terrible! I would definitely wait for a new hard drive, too, if I were you. I’m taking a couple of months off from writing (until January), so I’m pretty much in full-time procrastination mode right now. :) I’ve been framing photographs – had something like 30 photographs en...

Spiraling Blue Light Over Norway
I saw a story on the news early yesterday morning that provided quite a bit of distraction for me throughout the entire day after I heard there were lots of videos about the event posted on YouTube. The event: spiraling blue light and what looks like a wormhole in the sky above Norway. Initially ide...

Re: The Internet and Background Research for Writing
Daniel – Ahhhh, film. Yes, I remember film. I took thousands of photos with film before finally buying a digital camera. Someday, I need to scan them into my computer; some are beginning to fade already. Sad about the rundown town. Unfortunately, I think that's how many Native Americans end up. Fasc...

Re: Short Story eBooks
Small eBook publishers have been doing this for a while. In addition to having short stories published in anthologies, I feel very lucky to have two short stories published with their own book covers in eBook format: COYOTE CROSSING and CANNON FODDER: OPERATION HORSE WHISPERER http://www.marilynpeak...

Re: Favorite writing distractions
I take lots of scheduled time off from writing, but major distractions for me while I’m actually sitting at my computer trying to write ... that would be surfing the Internet, and chatting in blogs and forums. :)

Re: Holiday Plans - anything fun or just shopping?
Right now, I feel like I’m in the grip of some huge pre-Christmas whirlwind. I decorated our Christmas tree, and am almost done stuffing Christmas cards and our annual Christmas letter into envelopes. Still need to decorate inside, put lights outside, wrap presents and bake Christmas cookies. Lookin...

Re: The Internet and Background Research for Writing
Daniel – That’s so cool that you made it down to the Havasupai area four times. It sounds like an extremely rugged trek! Did you meet with the Havasupai Indians? After reading about their culture, I would love to visit them sometime. And the scenery, especially the Havasu Falls and the blue water, l...

The "Cool-er eReader"
I saw something called the “Cool-er eReader” on QVC this week ... and thought, What the...? Haven’t even heard of that! Turns out there’s an interesting story behind it. A writer created the “Cool-er eReader” for his own startup self-publishing business, and now it’s in competition with the Kindle a...
