Re: Rebel in Remission; dark Literary Fic/coming of age
Some are trying to create a new genre called New Adult for 18-24. I think its a good idea, then YA can be YA again without twimoms pressuring writers to include graphic sex descriptions-stuff that belongs in the crappy commercial romance they read.

Re: Meant To Be---Comm. Fic---new "special request" version
I don't know much about this type of query. I don't like them, but I like your previous query. Maybe drop the line referring to twi-moms or Nicholas Sparks and pick someone more obscure? Some agents don't like comparisons to New York Times Best Selling Authors.

Re: Book of Shadows, Horror Excerpt
I don't know about this. The dialogue is decent, but the narration reads like Dean Koontz on a bad day. I definitely tighten it and use less description with short snappy sentences to grab the reader. Stephen King does this well.

This is brilliant. I swear if you wrote a novella about this sort of stuff I'd buy it.

I've always been a fan of peasants overthrowing empires. Good luck with finishing your query.

This is a lot better. But like Quill said, make Anna more active. I now understand the plot, overthrow the King with peasants right?

Re: Will technology kill book publishing? Not even close
While ebooks are nice, I prefer reading actual books. I can't exactly see ebooks phasing out real books either. Especially since most schools, a large purchaser of books as well as a place for Scholastic to market like crazy, refuse to convert to ebook format. Each year at least one book is a mandat...

Re: Snooki has a book deal.
I think there should be a rule that you have to be older than 40 to write a memoir, unless you have something important to say like how you survived brain cancer or something. Honestly everyone is trying to write a memoir about their boring life that really no one cares about. But she might be a goo...
