Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
Sorry, just saw your twitter name in your sig file. Off to find you! (And no, I don't mean that to sound as creepy as it does!) I think I may have just died of laughter :D I wasn't around yesterday - something came up and I didn't get anything done :( I am pleased to report that I've spent most of ...

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
My biggest challenges today include: 1. To not turn on the TV. If I do, I will get sucked into the time vortex that is the Olympics. I've watched far too much of them already. Great job, athletes. Congrats on all your accomplishments. I just can't watch or else I'll lose my day. 2. To monitor my on...

Re: New vs experienced agents
I would do whatever seems right to you :) For me, while new agents may not have all the contacts and things, they'll be wanting to build their career alongside yours. I would say that I'm a new writer. I have no reader base or anything like that. They're a new agent. They might not have a contact li...

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
If I made a spreadsheet, it would be a very beautiful spreadsheet. It would be pretty and color coded and such, but it wouldn't help me at all! CV Exactly the same for me. I tried making one, but like most things I do it fizzled out when I realized I'm not the type of person who can be organized. I...

Re: Writing From Loneliness
I think my main reason for writing is the need to be in complete control over something, and to be the one who builds the worlds and decides what people say, and put my characters through tough times where I know the exact outcome, even if it isn't a nice one. I think that's the reason that I write...

Re: Writing From Loneliness
I'm an introvert, which would surprise many people (I guess I'm a little like Brenda.) I seem fine around groups of people, but I don't tend to talk a lot, and if I do, and I feel there's too much attention on me, I start stuttering like crazy. After a while of being in a group I get tired and just ...

Re: What do you do when an idea takes over?
So when you're working on a novel and inspiration strikes for something totally different, what do you do? I write it down, and focus on my novel. If it is good, it'll be the thing I work on next. However normally I find that after leaving it for a week, it isn't as amazing as I originally thought.

A list of things you shouldn't do if you're an unpublished writer. I aim for it to be humorous, so I hope it pays off

Re: J.K. Rowling's new book - The Casual Vacancy
Maybe I misunderstood you, or I just know these things because I've been back and forth between Canada and UK a few times, but £17 is worth something like $30-35. So you're actually paying way more (which in my experience is usually the case with the UK..) I just typed covert $ into £ into google :...

Re: Question about using real places in WIPs
I agree. Just write the best book you can and worry about all the other stuff later.Amanda Elizabeth wrote: I think that would be a good question for Nathan if you are self-publishing. If you aren't, write the book, get an agent, get the manuscript sold and the publisher can handle that.

Re: The Introduction Thread
Hey all, I'm a bit of a lurker and thought it was time I officially joined. My first love is writing science-fiction, but I've taken a bit of a detour lately. I sort of stumbled into the M/M erotic romance sub-genre and am giving it a solid try. I don't know if there are any other writers of this g...

, but not if people are nearby, or especially if they're right behind me. I love that! Haha, yes, me too. And I also have the same problem. I can't write if someone is close enough to read, even if they aren't reading. It's just... what if ? And whether I'm writing Nano-crap, a paper for school and...

Re: I recommend blogger (vs wordpress)
How did you add the tabs on your blogger? I've been trying to revamp mine for the past few hours (I don't seen to be very good at this) and I can't figure out how to add a tab! Ooooeee, post a link! I'm a teen too :) I'd love to see what you're writing! Basically, on the dashboard, there's a tab th...
