Re: NFL Sunday Celebrate or Commiserate here.
Good game, Knight_Tour! Congratulations! Peyton poured on the Manning magic in the second half, but I'll bet we had you worried there for a while. On the bright side, My hub, the Bronx Italian, won't be listening to NY sports radio all week and I won't have to hear "ground and pound" five ...

Tzalaran, we will know by the end of the day whether or not the Bucs curse holds. Go Saints!
Have a happy football Sunday, fans. Except for you, Knight+tour. <g>

What a wonderful story of how you went from luddite to techno-leader in seven short years. You are an inspiration to us all, Marilyn.

No doubt, Ink. I would say I'm sorry, Lisa, but you would know it was a lie. How about if I just say that as a former SD resident and Charger season ticket holder, I feel your pain? It was one of those games that could easily have gone the other way, and looked like it would for most of the first ha...

disyc, do you ever feel like you are on to one of life's best kept secrets?
Another bennie for me is that it is so satisfying to watch a work get better with each pass through it. If only I had had the same result on the tennis court....

Brian and THB, I'm glad I passed by your street corner this morning. I'll be laughing all day, whether my Jets win or lose. Thanks.

Re: Soooo, when's that book of yours going to be done?
A contest worthy question in itself. I have two favorite answers. If I am pressed for time: "It's finished, in some dimension or another." This leaves the querent feeling satisfied, if slightly baffled. Or, on more leisurely days I will go into a long diatribe about the detailed ins and ou...

Re: Breaking Silence
Wingspan, your voice resonates within me. I, too, was demoralized by that quote and almost missed my writing life because of it. What I will buy into is that writers write how and when we can. And solitude is almost essential. Be easy on yourself, and good luck in finding some quiet time.

Nice blog. Few people realize what a collective effort goes into good writing. Creating a world for others to inhabit is not easy!

Emptyrefrigerator, good on you for persisting in the desensitization process. It is tremendously freeing when you get to the other side.

Re: Of working with a famous Editor and killing your darlings
As a freelance writer/editor, I often get first draft manuscripts from authors who think they are ready for final editing when they seriously need some developmental guidance. It's a sticky picket to have to tell someone who is looking for a $15.00/hr service that what they need is more like $80.00 ...

Re: Is your ‘but’ too big?
The gap between the time I have and the amount of "stuff" I have to do would be terrifying if I stopped to look at it, so I just keep plugging. I feel my but getting skinnier all the time.
