Re: Do you have a new blog post?

My first proper blog post: http://ravenaguron.blogspot.co.uk/2012/ ... young.html

What to include in books for young adults (being a YA myself I feel I can speak quite comfortably about this topic.)

I recommend blogger (vs wordpress)

I just created a new blog (yay!) But boy was it hard to get there! First I tried using wordpress, and created a blog: ravenaguron.wordpress.com But it wouldn't display correctly so I deleted it and tried again. Only the domain ravenaguron was taken so I stuck a random k in the middle of my name. The...

Re: My thorny plot mess .....HELP!

Sounds interesting! I'm guessing a thriller of sorts? Here is what i have: At the met, the friend asks the protagonist to find a woman, and to keep her safe. The friend can't do it because he doesn't want to alert certain interested parties that he is hiding the existence of this woman. The woman is...

Re: YouTube- the new blog?

I would recommend simply getting yourself out there, and just becoming part of the writing community. Becoming a familiar face on people's blogs and they might become a familiar face on yours. Also, why are you "blogging?" To network, to make friends, (Nathan had a blog post about this I t...

Re: Tears

I would love to make people cry (how awful does that sound?) It shows the reader cares about your characters/ storyline. I've cried because of sad endings before (but they had to be done REALLY well.) The right sad ending kind of haunted me for a while. The wrong one makes me go

Re: The Coffee Shop - JULY

Here's to hoping. We all THINK we have, don't we? The question becomes, is this story, the one that has been rattling in my head since the late 1990s, good enough to do that? I mean, I find it compelling. I liked it enough to have it keep my interest for over a decade. It's the story that made me w...

Re: Writing Sins

My characters "look" at everything. They do stuff with their hands, and I tend to describe emotion through their eyes a lot, but my goodness do they "look" at everything, all the time. It's ridiculous. (They also like to "smile", "grin", "glance", a...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JULY

Wow, Quite thorough. I realize I am not the intended audience, but the "SAMENESS" of it really seems to be such a drag. They are the same story but the names are changed. I will, however, look at the list you sent and see if I can find something I like. However, this now makes me wonder h...
