Re: The Coffee Shop - OCTOBER
I'm calling this month the Month of Organizing my Life. I'm putting all kind of things in order (paperwork, habits, etc.) in order to create time and space for NaNoWriMo. Which I also have to organize, ah! I feel like I spent the last month running around like a headless chicken, so this is a much n...

Re: NaNoWriMo 2012 - Prep
I'm participating again. No amount of work level can keep me away from doing (and planning!) NaNoWriMo. This year I am also doing something else I consider a bit "dangerous": I'm doing NaNoWriMo with my post-apo French WIP, and I expect my output to be good enough. Last year I refused to w...

Re: Word Count/Writing Challenge - SEPTEMBER
Well, I didn't join the challenge because I had a weird double-semester and thought I wouldn't be writing much (outside of classes anyway), but it turns out I wrote some 18 (handwritten) pages throughout the month, and I'm very happy about them. Progress I never thought I'd have!

Re: The Coffee Shop - SEPTEMBER
That's funny, because instead of books, I've got a lot of excellent music CDs coming out around that date!

Well let's see...
Homework, homework, homework! Yeah, my life is fascinating right now.
I guess I did start to plan/write my French project again.

Re: The Coffee Shop - SEPTEMBER
Tricia, your story is at the baby idea phase. It's normal to have a bunch of holes in it. I'm five drafts in mine and I still run into HUGE plot holes which makes me want to throw it all on the wall and run away. Going back to your Love List of why you wanted to write that story is very good idea. I...

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
Well, August for me is one of those months that doesn't look productive... and hasn't been, ha! I ran into problems with Part 4 that'll demand time to solve and I had to stop and begin doing classwork again. Since then I have been writing, but all on school stuff (it's still fiction though) and I sl...

Re: Your Favorite Fantasy
Oh my gosh, there are so many of them. One of mine is to be able to hold readings/meets/fan events or whatev here in Quebec, despite plans to publish in English. Or to see my book mentioned in the French press. I guess I want recognition in my home grounds despite the language barrier and realise ho...

Re: Oh Crap Breast Cancer
We should have a party. With cake and everything. I mean, every excuse is good for a party, and this seems like a VERY VERY good one!

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
Oh my gosh, I feel like I haven't been on in ages ! Happy birthday Sommer and Margo! I've been working a lot at my new job and just did a back-and-forth trip to Montreal for Sidekick's dad's wedding. It was super sweet because they've been together for some 25 years, already have children, etc. and ...

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
Sommer's spreadsheet makes me jealous, in part because I keep track of about the same things as she does but never took the time to do this. So I'm always highlighting chunks of texts to know how long they are. XD

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
Haha, Sommer, even I get those Too Much Maths! Panic moments, and I love myself some maths. Just keep breathing. It'll pass eventually. ;) Mark: It's great that you're working fast and have a routine. I'm having trouble setting one down (the fact that my job schedule always changes doesn't help) but...

Re: The Coffee Shop - AUGUST
Hurray for the positive feedback, Mark! And I hope you can do your rewrite so fast. I've been trudging along on my for a year now (ugh!) and I can't wait to be finished. Ironically, half of my progress has been in the last two months, and had I worked that fast all year, I'd be done by now (not that...

Re: When do you seek outside opinion?
I'm very close to dios4vida in this aspect. My first drafts are most often big fat messes and nobody gets to see them. I'll rewrite the entire novel at least once, then do a quick pass for obvious mistakes before I show it to anyone. When I'm stuck I bounce ideas off my own Sidekick (AKA, the boyfri...
