Re: Viewpoint Character Dies
George R. R. Martin has no problem with killing off major POV characters, and he sells millions of books, so clearly it can work.

Re: Do you have a new blog post?
I posted about similarities I've seen between George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones and Tad Williams's The Dragonbone Chair while I've been reading the latter.

Re: Do first books always suck?
My first book doesn't suck, but it does need some work still to improve tension and some description.

Re: Retroactive Idea Thievery
I can so relate to this. I had a title I really loved for a sci-fi book, but when I Googled it, someone had already used it. Their story had nothing to do with mine, but I still felt the need to change mine. Then, I made up an offbeat name for a character in my first fantasy book - Sir Victus. I fig...

Re: Cover Design
I have a vivid picture in my head of the cover art that I want, but I am not good enough to do it myself. I would gladly pay a reasonable amount if I could find an artist talented enough to do what I am after. It needs to be someone who can pull of realism, though. When I scour the net looking for ...

Re: Are Most Authors Women?
The vast majority of followers on my blog are women, perhaps 75% or so. I agree it's probably more about communication styles. Maybe the current predominance of YA is part of it?

Oh wow! It was worth staying up all night to see my Wildcats dismantle Duke! Now if we could just do the same to UConn.

Re: Bransford Blog Bracket Challenge!!!
I don't see my Arizona team beating Duke unless Duke plays poorly and our guys are all on fire. We usually have a couple guys doing well and the others underperforming, different ones each night. I have dreamed all season of a game when all of our guys played to their potential. It hasn't happened y...

Each site allows a different number. CNNSI allows five. ESPN allows ten.veela-valoom wrote:Just curious how many brackets do you have?knight_tour wrote:My number 2 ESPN bracket is at 99.3% - http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/en/entry?entryID=1328679

I'm in Baku, so I would literally have to stay awake all night to watch them all. Luckily my Arizona game was on at ten PM here.

Re: Bransford Blog Bracket Challenge!!!
Yesterdays were better but the VCU vs Georgetown game is interesting and Washing vs Georgia has been a battle so far. VCU G'town might be interesting if you picked VCU. For me it's excruciating. Huskies/Dawgs is pretty good though, you're right. I live in GA, but I'm from Seattle, so I just support...

Re: Bransford Blog Bracket Challenge!!!
I'm looking everywhere for video or at least audio of the Sydney Johnson (Princeton's coach) post game conference. I don't care if you like basketball or hate it. It doesn't matter if you think the ivy league is nothing but a bunch of evil WASPs. It's inspiring. The video should be available soon. ...

I wouldn't worry. I was busted after round 1 last year and then nearly won. If only Butler had pulled it off!trixie wrote:Dear Louisville...
You suck. You've ruined my chances at a query, thankyouverymuch.

Okay, it's only the first round.
