Re: If you were an agent....
I feel like being an agent would be quite fun, but I would also be horrible at it because I'm so darn picky about what I read. >_> I'd rep all types of fantasy, YA (though nothing that could be called a 'teen novel'), some soft and speculative sci-fi (or any kind if it includes dragons), and maybe s...

From my current WIP:

Re: Query - Figment - YA Fantasy- REVISED
George pushes Audrey Parker out of danger. He wipes a tear away. He holds her hand. He even dances with her. That wouldn’t mean much, -maybe not to a kid, but it would to a seventeen year old except imaginary friends aren’t supposed to be real. According to ‘The Council,’ - quotes aren't needed the...

Re: Do you have a Deviant Art?
Ooo! I have one! (well, two, but only one I'm really using). http://amorenanobile.deviantart.com/ I post references of all my non-human characters there and use it for commissioning artists.

Re: Forum game: Random facts about you
Random Fact: While most people get the winter blues, I get the summer blues. I'm totally useless from about mid-July to the end of September >_> (Also why I've been gone from these forums since July... I haven't written a thing.)
Also, I like chewing on dry pasta.

Re: ROCK PAPER TIGER review (and a brief mention of my new blog)
Everything I'm hearing about this book seems good, but I have to say all the swearing and Ellie's personality in the first few pages really made me grimace. She's just not my kind of character, I think. Maybe it's worth a shot anyway though. Thanks for the review, and wow, you have a very internatio...

Re: How'd you come up with that?
The idea for my on-hold fantasy series just developed over time. In fact, I have no idea where it originally came from. My current idea came from looking at pictures of original characters on deviantART.com. My ideas really need to evolve on their own. I've tried thinking of ideas, but none are at a...

New Post! Back from vacation, and an Eclipse movie review from someone who doesn't love or hate the Twilight series (that someone being me). Link in sig.
Re: Endings
I recommend that you find someone you trust for their opinion and their honesty. They don't have to read the manuscript (though that would be great)--you can just give them the details of what's going on. Then discuss it over coffee and brainstorm. You might be surprised how much help you get just ...

Re: Beginnings
My first page or two are giving me a lot of trouble. At least this time I have a good idea what I actually want the beginning to look like and I'm just working on line editing and details, but I've still been stuck on the same sentence for three days. The rest of my first chapter is giving me troubl...

I have a blog! I'm still working on it, but the 'about me' section and a first post are up. Link is in my signature.

Re: How many POV's?
This has pretty much been said before, but I wanted to add my own comment to the pile. I think it really depends on the book. My current novel is kind of event-driven; It's more about the event in "history" (this being an alternate universe sci-fi fantasy novel) than any individual charact...

Sorry for taking so long to respond! Thanks to the three of you for the critique. Much appreciated. I'll probably edit with a revised version sometime soon.

Re: Ask Nathan
Whoa - the best thing to do is to just summarize the story and not mention the different points of view. I'm pretty confused by the above, and you don't want the agent confused. Haha, sorry about that. Yeah, I kind of expected that answer. Just wanted to make sure. Yeah, I read the first one and re...

Re: Why do you reread books?
I used to re-read books just because I loved them. I must have read Eragon nearly 20 times within the year after it came out (Yes, obsessive, I know, it was a phase. Yes, I'm also one of the people who likes that series.). These days, I generally only read a book once. What will make me re-read, tho...
