I didn't forget!

In fact, I just typed the words "THE END" in my WIP -- so I'm done my draft and ready for the editing process which I hope to accomplish this weekend!

Re: How do you find your inspiration?

Usually, I start with no plot whatsoever. I start with a few scenes in my head that just have to be written into a book -- I can't exactly remember which scene it was that led to my current WIP. Sometimes the scene I wanted to show so bad doesn't actually make it into the final product. Oh, wait! No...

Re: LABOR DAY WEEKEND WRITE-OFF

I'm gonna go with a slightly different goal... I wanna finish a complete draft of my WIP by the end of the September long weekend (which means I may succeed before the weekend even starts). I haven't been able to write these past few weeks cuz of school work on a very heavy schedule or procrastinat...

Re: Teenage Writers?

Apeprovost (sorry, don't know your name), you said that your algebra teacher inspired you to write. How many others have had this experience with a teacher? I told my English teacher last year about NaNoWriMo and by the end of it she stopped class for fifteen minutes so I could explain what it was ...

Re: Who first inspired you to read?

I used to dislike reading as a child. Then, in grade six, I was looking in the book section at the grocery store. "They have Star Trek BOOKS???" Hooked ever since. (That particular book was not so great, but it was like a gateway drug into more Star Trek, general sci-fi, thrillers, some ho...

Re: First, second and third person p.o.v

I have to say that I'm not usually a fan of first person. I don't necessarily find it harder to write in first person, but, to be quite honest, I find first person to be fairly dull. (I wouldn't want to spend all my time with one friend, so the same goes for fictional characters.) I like to know wha...

Re: what is your aim of writing??

Mike has told me on quite a few occasions that he writes because he finds it really fun. In a generalized way, I write so that I get the story "out" before it eats too much into my daily consciousness. I'm a mix of both of these, but a little more on the side of "gotta get it out!&qu...

Re: Music Suggestions for Writing

If I'm hooked on to the internet, I listen to various SomaFM internet radio stations -- found at somafm.com. I typically listen to Beat Blender, but there are a few others I'll be trying out soon. (They have Space Station Soma -- might be good since I write sci-fi! I have to check it out!) If I'm no...

Re: Teenage Writers?

I'm no longer a teenager. I haven't been one for a whole lot longer than I care to admit. (My profile pic on here is deceiving as people tend to think I look up to nine years younger than I actually am.) [I'm 27] I just wanted to say YAY for teenage writers! And, also, don't let age stop you from do...

It is a truly inspiring and thought-pro...

Re: Wackiest "advice"/comments you've gotten from non-writers

Here is the worst comment I have ever come across... "You can't be a good writer because you aren't hooked on drugs or alcohol and you don't smoke" UM? Really? Hahahaha! I don't work as a teacher, but studied to be one while in university. During my last student teaching placement, I went...
