Re: The art of the one sentence synopsis
Something that really helps me is a one sentence proclamation: I am writing a [Pace] [Genre] about [Log line}, with [Subplot}.

Re: How many Characters do you have?
As of the last three years, I currently have about thirty five characters, and that does not include minor characters like family. But that's spread through out seven 350 page books. So I hope I give each character their due diligence.

On Post Apocalypse And Writing Perspective,
Do post apocalyptic stories necessarily have to be right at the collapse of society, or can they be on the brink of collapse? I'm doing something where after many wars, the armies of this one continent have almost completely folded to this superstate, and they are on the losing end of a war. It is a...

Re: The art of the one sentence synopsis
I tend to start with a one sentence synopsis first, and then expand it to a paragraphs. And then a full length summary. And finally a full length chapter. I have no idea how good I am it though.

How many synopsis?
Writing a synopsis is not particularly a problem for me, but how many synopsis do you need if your doing a book that's sort of a novel, but more like connected shorts? 8 three thousand word synopsis?

Are there classes for,
World development, I think I've sort of narrowed down why I have a hard time pantsing a story these days. I can develop a character, and yet my character always ends up floating in a white void. And of course I would still need to know the end. For that matter, how do you get past 4,000 words. For m...

Re: Are critiques,
By the way, I apologies if I seemed like a winer. It just I found what they said hurtful.D: But yea, like I'm doing something in between Jennifer Government and 1984. But it has other aspects that make different than just merging different dystopian aspects. Its kind of an odd merger between traditi...

Are critiques,
Suppose to leave you with the feeling the person should get lost? For a long all the critiques I ever got were, "Its better than I can do, but keep in mind whatever idea you want to do, has probably already been done." If they actually went line for line about what was good and bad about m...

Re: I've been working on my synopsis and,
I sort of figured out a way. Basically I just need a load of different micro premises to help support the main premise. And then derive actions that support each micro premise. I figured out its important to keep your premise simple and concrete. Especially when writing a graphic novel script and no...

Does anyone,
Create a whole world to use for a collection of short stories? Often what I do is generate a new world idea. And then I see how many short stories I can come up with to fully explore that world.
The drawback is I have a hard time thinking of anything to say after 2,000 words.

Re: I've been working on my synopsis and,
it helps a bunch actually, and will actually help multiple projects i have in mind.:3 i guess for my current synopsis, i can also look up accounts of recent War On Terrorism veterans as well. The middle eastern wars are particularly relevant.

Last time,
I registered I did not properly introduce myself. I'm sort of a naturally shy person. Anyway I'm sort of an experimental writer. You could say I write post dystopian, though that term seems to have a lot of baggage these days.D: I'm sort of an odd one, as i sometimes prefer to write a synopsis than ...

Re: I've been working on my synopsis and,
Its mainly an issue when I want to look up things about the military, understanding ground tactics and guerilla warfare. Things like how logistics work, and other fine details. With my other projects it was always as easy as, "I want to understand 19th century france legal system, so i'll buy t...

Re: The hardest part of the novel
I don't know what you call it. I mean I use to be able to write 3,696 words a day. The problem was I could never write more than 3,969 words a day. I use to devote all my research to those first 3,969 words. Which created my first two short stories. The first short story was going to be a three act ...

Re: Synopses: Richard Unhinged
Ok I figured since more then seventy two hours have passed, it might be ok to update.^_- I wont edit the synopsis if a critique does not mention both the good and the bad. I've avoided critiques cause of this weird habit of some places only mentioning the bad. Oh and, leave pop cultural references t...
