Dear Ms. Agent: After faking her death to escape a group of supernatural mercenaries, Lillim Callina has been eking out her life as a paranormal investigator. When a seemingly routine case causes her to inadvertently kidnap the infant son of a werewolf king and turn him over to a vampire lord, she ...

Re: Agent Search Spreadsheet
I use something similar. I highlight agents at the same agency, list date queried, email/address, agency, agent's name (of course), submission guidelines, and status of query. It makes me feel better to see it all laid out like that in a simple form, although my sister said she read somewhere that s...

Second version: Elsa Kartchner, single and independent, isn't bothered by middle age. Instead, she worries about her only daughter leaving for a year-long trip to Russia. Things get worse when her 84-year-old Jewish mother shows up on her DC doorstep - to stay. (I would specify which "her"...

Attachments: Fulls, bio, etc.
I just received my first full request (yay me!) and the agent asked me to send the manuscript plus the original query and a short bio. He asked for all these to be attached but does that mean attached in the same or separate documents?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: The Cooks Source Blow-Up
If you change 3 ingredients in a recipe, the original owner has no legal claim over yours. I don't drizzle the sauce at the end and I use butter instead of margerine...? XD It's delicious! It's got cream cheese and peanut butter in it. Anything with that much richness is. XD And a choco-cookie crus...

Re: Literary Fiction
I am! My current novel is about an art student. I know next to nothing about art so I'm finding it a bit difficult but I think that's mostly me psyching myself out. I'm trying to hit on censorship issues with mine though.

Query agent w/ little or no info
I'm considering querying an agent who, when googled, has basically no info except that she reps my favorite author. There's also contact info but my question is, with so little info about the agent is it appropriate to query her? Or would it be better to leave her alone? Also, my writing is somewhat...

Two agents at one agency
Hi, I just realized I accidentally queried two agents at the same agency and was wondering what to do about it, if anything. The queries were sent out about a week apart and I'd had no word from the first when I sent the second. Should I just let it go and hope for the best or is there something I c...

Quoteversation
So, yeah, I'm kinda stealing this from another forum. Basically what you do is type a quote from a book, movie, tv show, etc. (and let us know which character, or at least what book/show it's from) then the next person responds with another quote that makes it sound like an actual conversation. It d...

Re: YA Fantasy Query -- Glory or Death
Hi! Here's a query that I'd like some opinions on. Thank you in advance :) Dear Dream Agent X, Ayla lived alone with her father for sixteen years and now the goddess of the underworld has come to collect him. Ayla wasn't ready for him to leave permanently when she was five, and she's not now. (Inte...
