Re: Newly Revised Query for YA Supernatural -- Updated
Sixteen-year-old Lucas Fuller barely recognizes his face without cuts and bruises. Bullies can smell fear, and he's never had the balls to fight back. When the girl he's madly in love with rejects him to stay with her abusive boyfriend, it's the final blow to a life too riddled with pain and loss to...

Thanks guys.
Yep it's definitely a genuine publisher not a self publisher. They do mostly ebooks and some print.

A full MS request from agent and publisher at same time...
Hi, I need some advice. I sent queries to both agents and publishers at the same time. I had a full MS request from an agent at Writers House about a month ago which I sent away. Now I have had a full MS request from a small ebook publisher, MUSA. It says on the Writers House website they 'prefer' t...

Re: Can you send revisions once you have already sent a full MS?
Thanks! No the publisher hasn't made an offer. So I will keep it to myself. The revisions don't change the plot or affect the style much but I and the others who have read them think they do a better job of introducing the world the MC lives in. The publisher told me off for info dumps in the first ...

Can you send revisions once you have already sent a full MS?
Hi, I have a couple of questions about agent etiquette. I had a full MS request from Susan Ginsburg. I sent it off about 3 weeks ago. Since then I had some feedback from a publisher who asked me to revise my first chapter and resubmit it. So my questions are: 1. Should I tell the agent about the pub...

Re: Queries make this aussie girl feel stupid.
Thanks everyone. Haven't landed an agent yet, just a full MS request but fingers crossed!! I am still battling this query demon though. Here are three different ones. Can you tell me which one you like best? QUERY 1: Dear Rosa has to run, her life depends on it. Another life now depends on her too: ...

Re: First 400 Words of OF ICE AND ASHES, YA Light Fantasy
This excerpt does grab your attention from the start. The only thing I wanted to know more about was the scar, just a little sentence telling me where it came from or what it looked like. I like the use of the word tweaked, but I like using weird words to describe things, it sets it apart from other...

Re: First 637 words of my novel, The Phoenix: A Gathering
Sounds cool. I like where it's heading but I think your prologue should have a bit more detail,as someone else said, to ground the story, give us a backdrop. As for the pants thing if it's YA I don't see any problem with him having no clothes, or could the fireproof box contain clothing so he is nak...
