Re: TOUR BUS TO MEXICO, 1982 - short story excerpt
I like the storyline. Your use of Vanna creates an easy "minds eye" visual. One thing I find is your third person/narrator seems rather rigid, a tad clinical. Keep up the good work!

How long did it take you to write your Manuscript?
I'm curious how much time people devote to a single writing project. From the first word of the page to finish, please include word count. My current manuscript stared May 1 2010. Word count 241,734. Now that I've finished the story I've begun ot edit...ick! Give me a hand if you can, when you see t...

Re: Tips for Dialogue Among Multiple Characters?
I like polymath's view. A positional observation by one character of the others can work well. Something outside the window caught his eye as "blank" listened to his colleagues. He looked back when "blank's" observation caused something to click in his mind. Confused by the path ...

Hiring an Editor
Nathan,
Is hiring an editor to review a manuscipt before finding an agent a good idea? I found a Consulting Editor on your blog and wondered also what part they play in the whole process.

Re: PREDICT THE NEXT BIG YA GENRE
I think politics is the next thing to come, especially light hearted approaches that inform. We have the beginning of presidential politic sneaking around already.

Re: Ask Nathan
Hi Nathan, I doubt my situation is unique. The book I have written is kind of long..........230K. I've read your views on length of work as well as a few others. My situation offers the ability to separate my work into at least 3 books if needed. The way I have wrtten my character's path from one ev...

Re: Which book have you read the most number of times?
I never tire of Patrick O'Brien's novels. I have all 19 and re-read them all. He shows you a time in history that far outstrips C.S. Forrester' ability to convey.
