Re: Combine the Last Movie You Saw and the Last Book You Read
Thor and "Before the Beginning." Superhero movie and book about quantum physics and astrophysics... >.> Though actually, they did have references to wormholes, etc in the movie...so maybe it's a better fit than you might think.

Re: Of the characters you've written, who is your favorite?
Ugh...I have a couple series I'm working on, at least mentally, though one has taken a backseat for the time being. Series 1 is probably Dawn, my "savior/demigod" character. http://nadezhdavasile.deviantart.com/art/Commission-Dawn-176030580?q=favby%3Agaoyuqing%2F2541131&qo=12 Series 2 ...

Re: Do you read indie/self-pubbed books?
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to books. I utterly refuse to get a e-reader, on principle alone and for other, practicle reasons it's irrelevant to mention. I therefore have never read a self-published book in that format. I have read a couple physical books that were self published...

Re: Query: Brotherly Love
Would be very appreciative of feedback on this: Dear Ms. The girl and her adopted brother became best friends as children, fell in love as teenagers, and had their lives wrenched apart by unjust circumstances in the end. BROTHERLY LOVE is the story of one man’s greed, another man’s failure to save ...

Re: Born to Bondage query - Revised final-updated 5/10/12
Thanks Joe and Wilder. I find it a point of amusement that one of you thought I had too much, the other not enough, details. Just drives home the subjective nature of this all. FYI Joe, I did go through and post feedback for several queries at the same time I posted my query, and I have posted befor...

Re: J.K. Rowling's new book - The Casual Vacancy
Honestly, the book sounds boring as heck. Perhaps partly because I don't tend to gravitate to ordinary fiction unless the premise seems really interesting, but nothing in the description hooks me in.

Re: What do you recommend?
That isn't well known? That's pretty subjective. If they asked for best book series I'd say Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. For something that may not be as well known, Octavia Butler's Xenogenesis trilogy comes mind since I just read that recently and was very impressed.

Re: How many books do you read per week (or month)?
Amount varies and since I read multiple books at one time, it's not an accurate measure of progress. Probably 3-4 a month, with time made for the magazines I subscribe too as well.

Re: MG: Pirate of Vallenta - REVISED
Ok, read both versions and I think you lost some of the humor and whimsy you had in the first draft. Clunky sentences aside, it made me smile, which is always a good thing if you want someone to read your book. Perhaps a middle ground between the two versions. Inject some of the humor of the first v...

Re: Born to Bondage query - Revised final(?)
Ok, in light of previous comments and personal urges I've supressed until now, I thought I'd do an update and try a different tack: Dear…, After losing everything that gave him identity and direction in life, Paul gives in to despair and kills himself. This should have been the end of the story, but...

Re: Born to Bondage query - Revised final(?)
Errrrr...and that's my fear. It was originally a single book, but I had to break it up into three due to its length. The biggest decision therefore comes in book 3, though there are other events and choices happening in the previous 2. Thanks for alerting me that the message is still hazy, I'll have...

Re: QUERY: Untitled YA Post Apocalyptic Novel
I'm not an agent, but I personally liked the first person twist. You lost me though in your final paragraph. For the first part it's all about her being hunted by her childhood friend, suddenly there's a switch to her being a prisoner? Sounds almost like two seperate stories. The first intriguing, t...
