I'm not at the point yet where I need my own website - but what I did do was buy my domain name. This way when I'm ready to start the website (ie. I find a fabulous agent who sells my books to a fabulous publisher), I won't have to worry about the domain name being taken. Just an idea. :)

I am so getting this book for my son when it comes out. There's not enough good stuff out there for boys in my opinion so I can't wait. I hope you're planning on doing more in that genre :)

I just did a post about how beneficial support/critiques groups are to the writing process. If you write juvenile fiction, I think the best resource is SCBWI. I found both my critique groups through there and it's been an amazing experience.

Not much to add but I do agree w/ Mira that it may partly be the subject matter at issue so make sure you're targeting your agent search well. Also, I would delete the whole sentence about it being "a gritty, heart-wrenching...." as well as the "readers who love tragic stories" b...

Marilyn - I'm with you on the Out of the Mist process. I didn't even know how my picture books would end when I started them and they're less than 1,000 words! However, I've consistently gotten great feedback about my endings. The story and ending tend to come as I write them and I love watching eve...
