Re: I recommend blogger (vs wordpress)

I like Blogger too! It's easy to use, and comfortably familiar. And, honestly, as a reader, I also prefer Blogger. Wordpress takes longer to load, and seems harder to navigate. But I do know some more techie folks who prefer Wordpress. It's more powerful and let's them do more. ON the other hand, I'...

Re: Tears

I think I aim more for breaking the reader's heart, than for getting them to cry. what I mean by that - I want to the writing to be so poignant, it breaks their heart. If I could do that, that would be so....AWESOME. I think this is a better way to say what my goal, and my ending, is like. CV :) Ah...

Holdin, We're not trying to discourage you! I'm sorry if you feel we are. We're trying to be helpful by letting you know what we know. Here's an article that might be helpful to you from a literary agent talking about when she considers self-published works: http://www.rachellegardner.com/2012/05/se...

Re: Self published author newly looking for an agent

Congratulations on the success of your book! From what I've seen, if you've self-published a book and you want consideration from an agent, you're going to need really high (really high) sales numbers to interest them, but if you have the numbers, you will probably get some real interest. However, i...

p.s. It's supposed to be humor, but I don't know if it works. Writing humor - it can be hard to tell sometimes. Any feedback is very welcome, if you feel like it :)

Re: YouTube- the new blog?

You know, this is a really good question. What occurred to me is there are probably some other folks vloging about this too. They may be wondering the same thing. I might search out some vblogs on you-tube that are writing related. I would also definitely check out nerdfighters and John Green, if yo...

That's pretty cool about your friend's computer game, Louise. :)

I know someone who went - Nathan! He'll be at the CNET table, and hopefully he'll tell us about it.

Re: If writing was a person....

This is a cool question. I think my muse is mysterious but kind. I see her as elusive, but she's eventutally available if I'm patient and trust. I imagine her as quite tall, slender and beautiful, wearing a dress from....hmmm.....not sure what period. Where they had long silk dresses and parasols. S...

Re: J.K. Rowling's new book - The Casual Vacancy

Hmmm. I suspect this is deliberate.

What you notice about the book is who wrote it. There's really nothing else to the cover. I think they are marketing this on name recognition = on the idea that people will buy the book because of who wrote it.
