Re: Ask Nathan

Nathan, Thank you so much for this Ask Nathan thread. I finally worked up enough courage to explain a situation with one of my manuscripts, and to ask a couple of questions, most importantly how you would interpret the feedback I’ve been receiving for my adult science fiction novel, GODS IN THE MACH...

Nathan,

I'll wait to see what you decide regarding signed copies, although I plan on buying copies no matter what. :)

I want Cormac McCarthy's superpower: to write a best-selling, Pulitzer-Prize-winning novel in only three weeks!

Re: JACOB WONDERBAR - the cover!!

Nathan,

Will you be selling signed copies? I've bought signed copies of books from lots of authors, and would love to purchase a signed copy of JACOB WONDERBAR, if you're going to be selling signed copies.

Re: What are you reading now?

This summer has been so incredibly busy for me, filled with lots of travel and other activities, I suddenly realized I’ve hardly read at all this summer and miss it very much. I got talked into reading a STAR WARS novel, which I’m enjoying, and am still reading TINKERS by Paul Harding. In the meanti...

Re: Nominate Your First Page for a Critique on the Blog

Nathan, I tried to figure out how to delete this entry, but I don't see a Delete button ... I've already started intensive editing of this novel, and the first chapter is now completely different. If you see this, feel free to delete this entry, so that it's no longer in the pool for your First Pag...

Thank you so much, Mira! I searched and searched for the information as to how long the pages stay up for critique, but couldn't find it. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!

Re: Page Critique Friday 8/27/10

Hi, Nathan, Thank you so much for taking time from your already very busy schedule to do critiques! I have a couple of questions about how Page (or Query) Critique Fridays work. I remember that, when you did Monday critiques on your Blog, queries and pages could only be posted at a certain time. Is ...

Re: Public Service Announcement

Regan, I’m so glad to hear that you’ve met supportive, friendly authors online. They more than make up for the few authors who can be unpleasant. I know what you mean about un-following some famous people. A while back, I had to stop following a very famous TV personality on Twitter because they kep...

Re: Sending short stories to publishers.

Hi, D. A. Hosek, I was invited to participate in a series of fiction anthologies by a fellow author who decided to put together and edit the series. I also pitched two non-fiction anthologies on the subject of writing to an indie press, and then invited authors whose work I was familiar with to cont...

Re: Independent publishers

I support lots of indie publishers by buying good books wherever I find them, from both the big publishing houses and indie presses. I’ve found so many fantastic indie books, it’s been exciting and fun.

Re: Jonathan Franzen

Interesting. Jonathan Franzen talks about his new book, and about how multi-tasking to promote books goes against the “quiet” and “still” nature of books: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/1 ... ef=twitter .
