Re: Goodreads Giveaway Tips?

I know nothing about Goodreads (sorry), but I just wanted to say congratulations, Ryan, on stepping out in the world! :)

I hope it goes really well!

Re: Learn a Language to Procrastinate

I'd really like to learn Spanish. It's important for my profession, since I live in California. I'm going to go the Rosetta Stone route eventually, but it's expensive, so I'm saving up. But I'll check out your site in the meantime - appreciate you sharing it. And you're right, free is good! :D

Re: Please flag posts with suspicious signatures

Well, I know this is a weird thing to say, and I'm not diminishing the irritation of having to delete it, but I rather enjoy the spam. I get a kick out of how clever they are. Sorry. ;) On the other hand, I really like flagging things, too, so I'll do my flagging part! Maybe this is because I sort o...

I have my first guest post, from Writersink! :D

Also known as Ravena, Writersink wrote a very clever post about procrastination.

Re: Writing Tips

Mira- You nailed it. BTW...I just published a new book, it's a kids book, but the main theme is finding the right time and right place for something. In the context of my story (Rudy Toot-Toot, it's on Amazon), it's a fart. Well, not just a fart, but a massive earthquake inducing blast, which, as y...

Re: Are Publishers Going Too Far?

Okay, my vote. I don't feel all that strongly because I think I've surrended to this. Publishers and Producers and Directors are going to do it, despite my opinion. And I don't have any problem with erotica. And I understand the idea of creative expansion on an idea, so I can see why people might di...

Re: At the can't-look-at-my-book phase

Boy, I know that feeling.

I echo what everyone is saying. Take a break. A long one.

Not only will you be re-energized, but like others here said, you'll see it with fresh eyes.

Congratulations! I know that feeling. There is nothing better than knowing someone loves your writing. It's great motivation, too! :D

Re: Writing Tips

Rick, I like your tips, especially tip #4. I never tire of those jokes. They are funny! :)

My tip: There is a time and a place for adverbs. Don't be afraid to use one when it feels right.

Yeah, it's sad there isn't a better way to play games for old platforms. Some of them were gems!

Re: Ebook

I agree with Mark and Sommer. It's illegal. No question.

It's also unethical, in that you are making money off someone's work. I imagine you are having some uneasy feelings about doing this, which is why you posted this here. I'd listen to that unease.

I'm glad you checked!

Yes, the web is abuzz. I feel suspect of their motives, myself. Maybe I'm being unfair, but something about this hits me wrong.
