Re: The Butterfly Key - Prolugue first 4 paragraphs

I like it. The atmosphere is definitely there and the story is interesting. It leaves me wanting to know more. I like the juxtapose of family/holiday/warmth with tension. I do wonder if the tension could be brought in a bit smoother, it seems like almost an afterthought loaded on top of the warmth ...

Re: A Nerd for Words

I had to laugh because I have the same thing in my manuscript. Something to the effect of... "He held her tight in his arms" I'm not a expert but I think tight or tightly is correct either way and is still a adverb either ways. But just wait... an expert will come by and slap me for being ...

So I want to self publish... kinda sorta, not really

Okay, here's the deal. I wrote a story for the wife. Had it professionally edited, and all the goodies. I still want to go through the traditional means of publishing, however my wife wants a copy now, and not a manuscript. And we all know how slow the publishing industry works. It could be years, o...

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you. The air and snow swirled around like a soft exhale of an angel’s breath, coa...

Big "Oops" for Penguin Austrailia?

SYDNEY – An Australian publisher is reprinting 7,000 cookbooks over a recipe for pasta with "salt and freshly ground black people." Penguin Group Australia's head of publishing, Bob Sessions, acknowledged the proofreader for the Pasta Bible should have picked up the error, but called it no...

Re: Share Your Dreams

I have nightmares of being married with three daughters... Oh damn, that's reality.

I have a goofy one where I try pulling my gums out of my mouth with my finger and no matter how much I pull it all comes out like taffy!!! It's really freaky!

Re: The importance (and difficulty) of gestures
