Re: Am I too late?
I pitched a novel at RWA national conf. I meant to polish it up and send it when I got home. But a head injury and sevear personal issues made it so I didn't get to it for months. So I finally have the first three chapters edited, but not completely polished. Is it too late to send it? I would reco...

Re: Re-imagining Shakespeare
Hey, wherever you get your inspiration I'm sure you could make it work. There have been lots of Shakespeare-inspired works of literature, it's all in the execution!

Making Spirits Bright With Heifer International
Hey forum friends, just wanted to make sure that everyone stops by the blog today: For every comment my wife and I are donating $1.00 to Heifer International, an organization that fights world hunger. Also, if you'd like to join in as well and make your own per-comment pledge just write a post on yo...

Re: Ask Nathan
Hi Nathan, I'm still editing away, and now have my word count down to 128k. I know this is too high for a debut novel, but I'm hoping it's not ridiculously high. My fear is that I will get a form rejection based on word count alone, as I've read on some agents' sites that they stop reading queries ...

Re: Ask Nathan
Alright, this has probably been covered on your blog, but even I don't have the energy to go back and read through the endless archives or a bunch of categories to find it. Sorry! What (estimated) percentage of books you've represented haven't managed to find a publisher? That seems like the scarie...

Re: Ask Nathan
Let's face it. No matter how good our books are, a lot of us (myself included) will likely never be published. Or at least our current book may not be published. Two questions. First, how do you you feel about the feature at sites such as lulu which allow you to make a fairly professional copy of y...

New Moderator Welcome: Ink!
Hey all, just a quick forum announcement that I have named Ink a forum moderator. Re: Critique/Review Sites and Groups
Hey guys, that's an interesting idea for a share your work forum. One of the reasons I've chosen to have just a few forums is that I personally get confused when I approach a discussion forum with zillions of different forums. I think it would be totally fine if you posted, say, short fiction or ex...

Re: Critique/Review Sites and Groups
I'm putting my hand up for a "share your work" thread in here too. I have tried a couple of various critique sites, but for some reason I find the people in this forum are a lot more trustworthy, friendly and most of all helpful and encouraging. As if Nathan didn't have enough on his plat...

Re: Comfort books
There are only a couple of books I re-read (so many new ones to get to!), but my favorite comfort book for re-reading would probably have to be HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. Always puts a smile on my face.
