Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE
Oh my gosh, I'm late but Tricia, screw Twitter and the blog and the internet if you have to. And especially screw other people's wordcounts. I so know how you feel on that one because at the start of the year I had the exact same problem. I would look at everyone's counts go up and all I had to show...

Ha! I have both ebola and the flesh-eating disease. Along with herpes, sperm, ulcer (the cutest of all), salmonella, TB, and one or two others I can't remember. I love the plushies. Although, yeah, I can see how I might not want a plush of something that almost killed me.

Brenda: buy yourself a plush microbe. They are the cutest thing ever. I miss mine, which have been trapped in a box for the last weeks. Speaking of microbes, do you know where I wasted my writing hours today? I got this board game which is a coop called Pandemic. And you've got to eradicate and cure...

OK, now you all got me curious.

Oh my. How did I ever climb to Rank 11th ? I guess I like to chat around a lot. And I say we all stop posting every time we're exactly one post behind polymath. That way he always stays top of the pile!

Oh, Charlee, we won't throw stones at you! If we did that we'd have killed Sommer long ago. ;) Thanks for the wishes everyone! I consider this a special day. From now on, when I tell people I'm 23, I'm not mistaking my age! Whoot for a year of not looking like a confused dumbass, haha! (seriously, I...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE
YAY Lush store! And you'll need to tell me when those 4 days are. As it stands I still don't have a job, so I might throw Sidekick out and camp out in my room (especially if it's my new bedroom with desk) and cram out all the words I haven't in June! ;) And guys, guys! Tomorrow I turn 23. :D Bring t...

mark, that is super awesome. Like, awesome x1000! And we're the best people to tell. None of us are creepy stalkers who'll stalk you and call your close family. Or, well, I think none of us are.

Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE
Tricia: Yeah, they changed the offer this year and I really don't like the new one. It's useful if you never meant to publish for real but want to give copies to 4-5 friends/family. However, even the old offer forced you to generate an ISBN for your book, so, you'd have that problem anyway. It's why...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE
Color me interested, Sommer! And guys, I have the most random news today. 1) My most epic scene disappeared for no reason at all. I swear I've written it, but I can't find it anywhere, in any document, in any back-up. I mean... what the heck world? 2) I got a call for a job interview by, listen to t...

Whoa, wait, I thought rewriting 5 times before you get a decent first draft was normal! Oops...She rewrote it five times before she thought it was a halfway decent first draft.

Ah! You and I don't work the same at all, then. :) When I stop for a few days, I find it very hard to start again. On the other hand, if I write every day I quickly hit a cruising speed, which only keeps getting better (with a few notable hard days). It's why when things really don't work out, I pre...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE
I think Mark has a point in that perhaps if you've had trouble with writing anything for this WIP, it might be because you can feel there's something wrong with it. I'm not sure I'd advise leaving it away completely for a week, though. There's plenty of others things you can also try. Some things I ...

Re: How do you know if your writing is any good?
I was just thinking about this the other day. I was getting ready to send out queries and a writer friend of mine said "Who do you think your writing is like?" And I said "........" ^When I'm asked that question I go all-pretentious on people and say "No one's. It's my writ...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE
Cool stuff. I was sitting there and trying to imagine what you guys were going through writing-wise and was all "are their rewrites like my rewrites"? I love to hear how others work. Sometimes it helps with my own, too.
And Brenda, sounds like a good rule of thumb.
