Re: What are you reading now?
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and I'm loving it!!!! Yeah, THE BOOK THIEF is amazing! I don't know if he has written other books but I don't see how you could possibly top the whole death as a narrator thing. If you like THE BOOK THIEF, check out Zusak's I AM THE MESSENGER. It came out a few years ...

Re: When I grow up I want to be...
I always wanted to be a writer. Well, occasionally, I entertained the dream of becoming a Broadway star, too, but mostly I wanted to be a writer.

Re: So I had a dream about...
I often have dreams about my characters! Unfortunately, they don't do or say anything that would help me with writing their stories. Usually, they're just hanging out at home, doing mundane things. In the last character-related dream I remember, I found myself at my character Victoria's house, sitti...

Re: Spelling errors get my goat
The biggest thing that makes my eye twitch is actually a punctuation error: people that use quotation marks to draw attention to a word or phrase. Quotation marks are to indicate that you are using someone else's words or that you mean those words in an almost-sarcastic-type of manner. If you're ju...

Re: Spelling errors get my goat
I have an ex-boyfriend who's been spelling "tongue" as "tounge" and "desperately" as "desparately" in his blog and all other writings for as long as I've known him (over ten years). Drives me nuts. I know I mentioned it to him at least once when we were still ...

Re: Post Your Favourites
Don't miss Peter Cameron's Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You . One of the most interesting male protagonists I've met in a long time, and the voice! It's a pleasure to read. I was even motivated to write a fan letter -- a rare occurrence -- and I got this really sweet reply. That's one of my ...

Re: What author would you have dinner with/what would you ask?
Living or dead? If I could bring an author back from the great beyond, I'd love to have dinner with William Faulkner. Or just, you know, a couple of rounds of bourbon. I don't think I'd have anything specific to ask him -- I'd just bask in the glow of his linguistic perfection. For those among the l...
