They mirror the ID as the great unexplored impulses that lead to adventure.

Re: Are you in control?

I always have an end game. A final goal that the pro-goalers offense achieves or the anti-goalers defenders block. Then I can allow the writing game to proceed as if I am participating in a unique experience that I do not know the final outcome for certain. I chart could be drawn on a page with a me...

Re: Critiquer's Toolkit

Pasted this into word and then printed into adobe acrobat and saved in my style & critique folder with six other key style and element summary documents.

I've had editors get stuck at the conflict build up stage (pg. 85-110) and bellow "But... whose in charge?"

Nice piece. Saved as a reference.

Re: 50 Procrastination Techniques for Aspiring Writers

Quality article here.

In answer to the question; I either write or I don't.
To push deeper: engaging in the fear of failure is a strong suspect.

Nice piece, very creative and sublimely humorous.

Re: Share links to posts on writing, publishing, and everything

I'll have to read the suggested links above when I can give them their just due attention. I have been looking over the Google-Sites Function; for organizing information related to writing processes. I find it difficult sometimes to collate stuff on a single laptop even though my laptop is quite han...

Re: We're not just writers, share your artistic talents!

I had to look up the phrase "Terra Incognito" the other day. I dug the maps in he Tolkien books and felt they added to story in a big way. I have some cover tunes on Google. The Event

OK Somebody had to do it. I officially open [] THE EVENT [] thread. The Event is a new offering from NBC involving supernatural content. I see a conflict arising between the mortals, the immortals and the eternal(s) arising in a series that attempts to source out the spookiest levels of the new phys...

Re: What's your favorite song that tells a story?

It would be a toss up between Stairway to Heaven or American Pie. Two vast anthems with deeply symbolic content and social commentary. Neither piece was designated by the artists in their minds as a commercial effort. As a Triad companion piece to your Mariners Revenge. The Old Man's Confession Piec...

Re: How do you deal with feeling fragile?

On topic. Death to critics! They are only to be allowed a final death, as a fitting reward for suffering, after a long, laborious, tormenting run, through a labyrinth of ancient and modern technologies; known to counter-tortures throughout the ages immemorial. With a bit less histrionic vitriolic di...

Re: How do you deal with feeling fragile?

Once I stumbled onto the implications of complication for reader rapport and resonance and setting, plot, idea, character, and event and unity and magnitude and outcome payoff, etc, I'd made what I'm convinced is the most and last crucial investigation and discovery and application and testing step...

Re: Hi, my name is Regan and I’m stuck in a plot hole.

Great topic and advice. I keep track of my plot holes and view them landing as meteorites. I drag them forward on a separate sheet-file that is the engine pulling the train down tracks. A serious plot hole comes from a time or emotion break in the process when you get pulled away from the flow of wr...

Re: Page Critique Friday 9/3/10

I liked all the stylistic talent displayed and the use of visual metaphors. I would replace "sports world" with something descriptive. I would bet you a fiver your talking about football but there is the possibility it could be a hockey player who took a dirty full body check to the lower body or a ...

Re: Is anyone else bummed about no more page critique Mondays?

How are the mechanics of it handled? New thread for each critique with comments? One running thread for first page and one for queries with no comments in a locked thread and with other linked threads for forum members comments? I know as it begins its new form you'll link to it in the blog so I'm a...
