Re: Should self-published book be told

First of all congrats on selling 1000 copies. The questions I think most agents might want to know is does this book already have a isbn attached to it, are all 1000 copies accountable (royalties) and if you sold some of them yourself did you or are you claiming it on your taxes so you can prove act...

Re: So Nathan is out of town this week...

So... just got back into town only to find books strewn about, empty pizza boxes on the table, beat poetry scribbled on a napkin, and bagpipes in the corner. Looks like I missed a great party!! Hey, if you find my saddle and my set of jumper cables can you wash them before you return them to me? Th...

Not saying it is/was part of any strategy on your part.

Good luck with your self-publishing. Yours is indeed a touching story.
Thanks Quill! I figured you were probably joking!

Re: So I want to self publish... kinda sorta, not really

My wife talked me into self pubbing this novel... and I don't mean just throwing something together. I am fortunate enough that we both have good jobs so I hired a editor and a cover designer. Everything was done the way we wanted it. All my goals were reached by writing this for her as a Christmas...

Re: Violent cartoons or t.v. shows you remember as a kid

And lets not talk about tv shows for kids from the 70's.

I swear all the people involved in creating these shows ate mushrooms or dropped acid.

Anyone remember Sigmund and the Sea monsters or HR Pufnstuf? 'nuff said!!!

Re: Nathan's query "template"

I'm ashamed of myself. I've never tried Nathan's template! I really like the way yours turned out. Let me give it shot: Samantha is a washed up novelist living in New York city fighting daily battles with her rampant OCD and anger issues. But when her grandmother's near death sends her packing back...

Re: So I want to self publish... kinda sorta, not really

It doesn't sound too bad... though from the sounds of it, you've got a request for 20 something copies. What are you going to do with the other 80? Why not go to Kinko's or something and make 1 copy for your wife? The only other case I've personally seen of self publishing was by a friend of my RA....

I'm laughing, only cause my wife bought video tapes at a garage sale of those shows for my 4 year old to watch.
