Re: Hi, my name is Regan and I’m stuck in a plot hole.

Thank you JadePhoenix, xouba, Margo, Mira and maggie! You all are making great points and giving me many things to think about. I decided to try another method this week. :D I'm brainstorming on an entirely different MS. I plan to avoid this particular one for a couple more days. Absence makes the h...

Re: Query Chat returns with Special Guests!!

I feel like such a crap friend that I never participate. One day I will be ready to query…one day… You always have the best guests! Maybe you could wrangle Nathan one day… ;-) Bah, I guess I'll keep you around. ;) And Nathan is welcome any time, but something tells me he's busy. ;). He's practicall...

Re: Forum Suggestions Box

Oops, missed this. Sorry! Yeah, multi-quote let's you reply to more people at a time. The way I've used it before, you hit the multi button beside each post you want to quote and on the last one you hit the regular quote button. It makes it easier to join in if you've missed some time getting back t...

Re: Query Chat returns with Special Guests!!

Regan - is this something you organize? It looks very cool. Great guests! I think this is terrific that you're doing something like this. :) Yes, I started it a while back. :) Thanks! It's always a lot of fun and I even learn answers to questions I'd never thought to ask. I was chatting with a coup...

Thank you for the comment and support, dios4vida. :) And I think I'll do a long walk around the neighborhood instead. I hate dishes. It puts me in a foul mood. :D

Re: How do you know what to take and what to leave?

If someone reads my work and tells me they missed something or were confused, it's my job to figure out what confused them or why they probably started skimming. If I don't trust their feedback, then I would get a new set of eyes to read it without telling them what to look for. After they've read, ...

Re: How do you deal with feeling fragile?

Mira -- I also thought of another suggestion. Why not post some stuff in the feedback area of this forum? (Not sure if you have already.) The trick is to preface your post by saying how hard or soft you want your critique. If someone doesn't say otherwise, I just crit the way I would crit my own pie...

Re: Hi, my name is Regan and I’m stuck in a plot hole.

Serious deeper plot holes are very important. They drag the story forward in remarkable ways, forcing you to wait for a pure intuitive answer that is already suggested by the logic of the earlier chapters. .... You'll find your way. You always did before. Totally agree and I'm also hoping that I'll...

A multi-quote function. That would be amazingly helpful. :D (Maybe I missed how to do it on your forums?)

Re: How do you know what to take and what to leave?

The only real advice I think I can offer you is to take some time away from the beta comments and feedback. Give yourself space and take a break from that particular book for a short while. Maybe work on something else and then return to it with a clear head. I had ten...TEN beta readers at one time...

Re: How do you deal with feeling fragile?

You deal with the vulnerability by doing it all over again a few hundred times. Eventually, you build tolerance to the fear of rejection and to rejection itself. Many will even build tolerance to praise, which is actually pretty handy. Praise addiction can be very destructive. Yep, yep, and yep... ...

Title: Confessions Of An Honest Man Word Count: 250 July, 1967. It feels too sterile and matter of fact.* They wore black tuxedoes, re...

Re: Show Us Your Tabs

I should add StumbleUpon...yep. :) And I'll add my own site, too. I usually know I need to write a blog post so the tab sits there and mocks me until I do one.
