Re: Weird Writing Habits

Ha! This is a great question, and the comments are so fun. Nice post, writersink. :) I write in my head. I realize that I have to have written almost the entire outline in my head, or I shouldn't even bother to sit down to write, because I'll have no idea what to say. I also need it very quiet, othe...

Re: Looking for Literary Agent for Coloring Book

This is interesting. Like Sleeping Beauty, I suspect that a coloring book is not classified as a book. I think it would be classified as a toy, or art project.

I don't know anything about the market for those, but you could do some research.

Really interesting question - good luck!

Re: Do you have a new blog post?

I wrote about: Our potential for Greatness: http://mirascorner.blogspot.com/ I'm trying my hand at prescriptive non-fiction (pop psychology). It's new for me to try, and a genre I definitely want to explore, but it's harder to do than I thought! If anyone stops by and has any feedback, I'd love to h...

writersink - I thought you were serious! Who DOESN'T type "gross pictures of snails" into a google search? It's all the rage - everybody's doing it!

How do you know if your writing is any good?

It's sort of a terrible thing that it's hard to judge the quality of your own writing. I've been sharing my writing in public lately, and it's scary. I write something, and I really can't tell if anyone else will like it or not. Until I get some feedback, and I'm totally on tenterhooks until I do, I...

Re: The Coffee Shop - JUNE

Happy weekend, Bev! And welcome. :) Checking in - I've been writing for my blog on a regular basis this month, and I'm very proud of myself. It feels like it's stretching me, and giving me ideas for my other writing. I have such trouble getting myself to write at all - terrible writer's block - and ...

Re: Two Characters Talking In My Head - One Novel

I like what other people said here, but I had another thought. What about the sequel? Maybe this first book is through one person's eyes, but maybe the friend is telling you she has her own story to share... Just another direction to go. I always think it's good to trust your instincts. Good luck! :)

Re: A pinoeering author in scifi has left us.

I'm happy that he lived a full life, but I'm sorry we have lost such a great, ground breaking writer. I read that he was writing every day of his life. And he was a great mentor for other writers. He was a childhood favorite of mine. I remember getting lost in his worlds. Rest In Peace, Ray Bradbury.

Re: LinkedIn passwords stolen

Thanks Doug! I heard about this. I'm debating. Such a pain in the neck to go change all my passwords, although it's probably a good idea to do it every couple of months anyway. I'll have to get organized! Frankly, I haven't used Linkin that much. Not really sure what you're supposed to do once you s...

Re: Join a writers' association to mention in query?

Does it cost money to join? If not, definitely worth a shot. If it does cost money......I don't know. I think it couldn't hurt, and maybe it will impress an agent, but I think the real strength of your query is in your description of your book. You might ask Nathan in the Ask Nathan thread. As a for...

Re: Tumblr vs. Blogger

Well, I think Sleeping Beauty knows alot more about Tumblr than I do, but I think a blog might do better on either Blogger or Wordpress, if you're looking for a wider audience.... Tumblr is younger and feels more specialized. Alot of folks don't know about it. Some aren't comfortable with the interf...
